Blade for Your Precision Cutter
Buehler provides two main precision sectioning blade families for its precision saws. IsoMet blades use diamond abrasive, making them suitable for a wide variety of materials and applications. IsoCut blades use CBN (cubic boron nitride), which gives excellent results when cutting ferrous materials.
For faster cutting of non‑delicate samples on a precision saw, you can also select AcuThin abrasive blades. When running abrasive blades on a precision cutter, Buehler strongly recommends pairing them with the external recirculation system (11‑2640) to maintain coolant quality and cutting performance.
Precision Sectioning Blades
IsoMet® Series
IsoMet diamond blades deliver precise, low‑damage sectioning on a wide
variety of materials, including hard and brittle samples used in
electronics, ceramics and advanced alloys.
The fine diamond abrasive and controlled bond help produce clean,
accurate cuts that preserve true microstructure for high‑resolution
microscopy and image analysis.
IsoCut® Series
IsoCut blades use CBN (cubic boron nitride) abrasive and are especially
effective for cutting ferrous materials such as steels, irons and
nickel‑based alloys.
They combine high cut rates with good surface quality, giving long blade
life and reliable performance on hard, wear‑resistant metals in
precision cutters.
AcuThin® Blades
AcuThin abrasive blades are slim, rubber‑bonded wheels designed for
quickly cutting non‑delicate samples with a precision saw while keeping
kerf width and deformation low.
When using AcuThin or other abrasive blades on a precision cutter, it is
recommended to pair them with an external recirculation system
(11‑2640) to maintain coolant quality and cutting consistency.
